Kathleen Saadat

Kathleen Saadat has served as a mentor and activist in Portland’s queer, feminist, and Black communities. She was born in 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Farragut High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1957 and received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Reed College, Portland, Oregon, in 1974.

Saadat was interviewed by Cameron Chambers on March 2, 2010, in Portland, Oregon. During her interview, she discusses how her family provided her with a tradition of camaraderie, social justice advocacy, and education. She also emphasizes how her diverse friendships and relationships opened her up to perspectives that had a great effect on her.
